FEMA-Approved Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Santa Cruz County MJHMP Update Has Been Approved

The Santa Cruz County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP) Update 2025 has received approval from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), confirming that the plan meets all federal hazard mitigation planning requirements.

Developed through a collaborative effort involving local jurisdictions, partner agencies, stakeholders, and community members, the plan provides a roadmap for reducing disaster risk and strengthening resilience throughout Santa Cruz County.

Most participating jurisdictions have already adopted the plan, with the remaining agencies completing final adoption actions. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this important effort to create a safer and more resilient Santa Cruz County.
