McFarland Hazard Mitigation Plan Update 2023

The City of McFarland is in the process of updating its Local Hazard Mitigation Plan to reduce losses resulting from natural disasters. This plan strives to identify and reduce vulnerability of the City’s residents, visitors, and infrastructure to future hazard events.

How to Participate

Use this website to learn about upcoming events, project milestones, and mitigation techniques you can use at home! Our goal is to ensure the final plan reflects the needs and concerns of the McFarland community.

Goals of Public Engagement

  • Understand safety and hazard concerns, problem areas, assets, and policy and mitigation priorities on a neighborhood scale
  • Collaborate with adjacent communities, special districts, utility providers, and other local regulatory agencies providing public safety services
  • Provide information and tools to community members, residents and businesses to increase safety and decrease hazard risk at the (private) parcel level
